Nakisa Nowroozi and Luv Maman

I am very pleased to introduce Dr. Nakisa Nowroozi, who owns Luv Maman, a provider of delicious and healthy spreads. I met Nakisa at a local business fair and was immediately wowed by her kindness, her enthusiasm, and expertise. Below Nakisa shares a bit about her products and her business.

Briefly describe Luv Maman:

We produce activated, sprouted, and stoneground nut butter ghee spreads infused with various medicinal herbs and spices and sweetened with raw unfiltered honey.

Where the idea came from:

It came from my family’s own history of health challenges and my quest for finding a solution of using food as medicine.

Describe your typical work day:

I work from a commercial rental kitchen. Once a week we make the nut butter mixes. We then jar, label, and seal them. They are then packaged for transport. We sell them online, on Amazon, or at local farmers markets, like the one that we met at.

The Almond Ghee Spread is a delicious option on toast.

How social media plays a role:

I mostly use Instagram, primarily to generate more exposure and also to promote my health philosophy. I have a social media manager who helps produce content as well as the educational videos. They assist me in all the editing work and posting everything on a regular basis.

Your thoughts on working with computers:

I primarily use a Mac computer for most of my work. Most of the content is stored in the cloud so that it is conveniently accessed. I don’t really have too much time for marketing, so the tech helps tremendously.

Your thoughts regarding websites:

Yes, I have a website that is where all the social media points to. Fortunately, I do have someone to update content and manage this for me.

The Luv Maman website.

What about email & online marketing?

I don’t use direct email or any other online marketing other than social media.

Balancing work and personal time:

Yes, I do my best to manage my time and have a balanced life. This is important for all small business owners, I think.

Regarding the environment, social issues, and being a partner to the community:

This is important to us. That is why we are green and net zero certified.

Dr. Nowroozi is also a published author.

Outlook for the Future:

For now, just small steps forward. In 5-10 years, I would like to see my products in large grocery stores, but for now, it’s just our online business.

Final thoughts:

I would like to tell all small business owners to never stop dreaming. I think this is more important than people realize.
