Starting a business from scratch takes a website, a quick selling product, and of course customers, right? Not always. What if there was a way to start a business without having all those things up front?

No one likes losing a job, and this pandemic has been devastating to the job market, especially for those outside of tech fields. Tech fields, however have not been impacted the same way, and its permanence even during a global pandemic may be a good reason to consider switching careers

Designating gig businesses to the umbrella category of small businesses does them a tremendous disservice. Their needs are too different and this leaves them in obscurity in the shadow of all the much larger “small” businesses.

We can’t know how many skilled and experienced people will stay in the gig economy once the current crisis subsides. However, there is no denying that the basic need of people to earn a living will drive many people there until it does.

The gig economy may very well have doubled or tripled in a matter of a few short months. If only we could know by how much instead of focusing all our attention on corporate contractors for Uber and Doordash.

While many gig workers will see a drop in business during the pandemic, they are also best suited to recover after the virus recedes. The reason is because gig workers already know about uncertainty, change, and adaptability. It is what gig work is all about.
